Sending warm and fuzzies card

What's a great way to let someone know that you're thinking of them?
Send some warm and fuzzies their way!!
Super cute and a great card!

In this particular card, I used pastels but bright colors will work just as good.
Maybe even better, depending on who the cards for.
I had a stamp for the mason jar, and my Peachy Keen stamps for the faces. That's what really gives them personality!

I didn't have a svg or die cut that was a real "fuzzy" so I used something else that I found on one my Cricut cartridges.
Create a Critter to be exact. The more that I explore my Cricut, the more I find uses for parts or layers as they call them. Even just basic shapes, can turn into something amazing with a little imagination!
(And added personality, faces!!)

I have made a really cute camera card that I used my Cricut craft room basics to make. Just used a retangle shape....Really simple too, and it seems to be a trend....the camera thing...lol

The more I look at the "fuzzies" the more I think they can even double as popcorn! How exciting! LOL!

Another step card...Get well soon

I really do love my Peachy Keen stamps,
so I sat down and thought of a great project for them.
I really wanted to try another step card.
Being that it's new to me, I wanted to play around some more.
The faces on the Peachy Keen stamps are so friendly and emotional,
I figured I would try the Get Well Soon card.

I had to cut everything (for the pills and the medicine bottle), from shapes. Basically like a punch art card would be, except I used my Cricut. For the border around my Get Well Soon, used my Sizzix  Big Kick die cut machine, with Spellbinder dies. Also used my polka dot embossing folder for the band aids.

I do love my Sizzix machine a lot more then my Cricut right now. I like the freedom of putting the die exactly where you want it. I finally learned the trick to do that with the Cricut, but the Spellbinder dies are another one of my loves!
There are svg files for cuts like this, but being that I have the Cricut expression 2, it doesn't cut svg!!! Sooo, disappointing!

But, there's hope! I did my research, and I know that the Silhouette machine does and the new Cricut Explore machine cuts svg files too. The Explore won't be out until March though.

So, this is the question that I dare ask....do I give up my Cricut Expression 2 and get a Silhouette, or the Cricut Explore???
I definitely want a mach that cuts svg files!!! No doubt about that!

Attempting first step card.....My sons 19th birthday card!

Attempting my first step card!

First I want to say Happy Birthday to my son Michael...(wow, that felt weird. I always called him Mikey, once in a while Michael, but now he's 19, and probably prefers Michael)

Ah yes. What would crafting be, if it wasn't for jumping in with new projects.
My oldest son turns 19 today, so I figured I would make his birthday card....giving a step card a try!
How hard could it be? Right?
I have a template, written instructions....I got this!! All under control....

What!??? Huh???
I don't know why, but no matter how much I measure, I always seen to be a tad off....ugh!
Cut card 4.5" by 8.5"...check, easy enough!
Then the little measurements inside....huh??? I remeasure a 100 times and still can't figure out my mistake...
Oh wait!!! The measurements on the template, are different then the written ones! Someone made a boo boo and it wasn't me....for once! Lol!

Anyway, after figuring it out, I finally was cooking with gas! I defiantly can't wait to do one again. Now I know how to measure....lol. Plus I also have a better idea of size and scale, etc, for the future set ups.

Hope Michael loves his card!!
Yeah, right! Being a typical teenage boy, it'll get tossed aside after removing the contents...
money of course! Hahahaha

I will add the template to help any of you out there, that want to make a step card. As soon as I make my own template for you to use. I will make sure the numbers are correct! Lol ;-)

I'm no "Peach", but maybe a Cricut???

Defeated.....

So, I didn't win the "Peach" award that I tried too, but that's ok!
Some may say it's an embarrasment. I'm a loser, but I beg to differ!
A beautiful card did win, and that's creative inspiration enough!
Helps with my creativity when I see others work, well, sometimes!!
Usually my work is just my own crazy brain child! Hahahaha....
There's another challenge from Peachy Keen Stamps, that I will enter. When I do, I'll tell you about and of course, show you my work!!!

My 2 Cricut entries, in case you missed them....

I have entered 2 cards in the Cricut challenge....just maybe...LOL!!
I went in a totally different direction with each card, but the rules were,
** 1) it had to be a Cricut cut
** 2)you had to use hearts.
I really like the shamrock card. It's a unique way to use a heart cut, don't you think???
And with Valentines day passed, why not?! Mix it up people!!!!
I used my hot glue gun with the shamrocks...it dries faster and provided a mega hold. Lol!
Plus, with the 3 D look they have, i felt it was a better choice! :-)

Another card challenge. ...could this be true...lol

Fantabulous Cricut

Oooh, looky what I found!

I spy with my little eyes, yet another card challenge! This ones pretty easy too!!!
Has to be a Cricut cut and something with hearts. Lets see what I come up with!

Well? Made this little gem a couple weeks ago.
What do you think? Certainly meets the criteria.
I'm jumping in with this guy.

I used my create a critter cartridge, some chalk, and stamps. This is one of the projects I wished I had the peachy keen stamps for, but I made the eyes with punches....
not bad, in my humble opinion!!!

Then, of course, there's this one.....

Once again, because this is a Cricut challenge, I used my Cricut machine to cut the hearts out. I have the Cricut Expression 2, and I'm also hooked up the the Cricut craft room, so, I used the craft room basic heart in this one. I just picked the sizes I wanted and va la!

So folks, there's the two cards I entered so far! Maybe I'll do a third...hmmmmm????

This particular challenge, you can enter up to 3 cards,
sooooo, I better get busy!!!Ta Ta for now. I have 2 more cards to design asap!
I'll keep you all posted.....

My first sketch challenge.....thanks to Peachy Keen stamps

My first sketch challenge!

OK, so, I'm new at blogging, as you can see.
I had to start a blog in order to enter a Peachy Keen sketch challenge. I just recently stubbled upon them, while Pinteresting. How did I ever live without Peachy Keen stamps!!!! I always wanted something to make cute faces on my Cricut designs, and I finally found it. So, props to the Pinterest and Peachy Keen goddess!!! I also have a new found love for my Cricut machine! Yay!

PKC-14-01
Peachy keen sketch for my challenge. The whole reason I started this blog.
http://www.peachykeenstamps.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/PKC-14-01.jpg

As I sat yesterday, scurrying to finish my project, my brain still not in working order.
Yes, I was sick all week, and couldn't work. I was paying the piped piper, but determined I was! I couldn't think, my crafty brain still in sleep mode.
I sat for hours, no joke, picking colors and themes. I didn't want to do a "love" theme, being that Valentines is already Friday, and I do have a recourse..... Ebay where I sell some of my creations. The ones that I don't need in my personal life anyway....lol.
Thank God the hubby was home, and he knew I really wanted this. He helped with the kids and made dinner....Thank you lover!!!

So, without further a due.....here goes......

After much debate, this is my creation!!!
"Just a note to brighten your day!"

I used my cricut machine for the flowers, the Peachy Keen stamps for the flowers faces/sentiment and I hand cut everything else.

Naturally, looking at it, I see what I should've done, like, move the orange sun ray panel closer. Maybe even thinned it out more. But the clock is ticking and I'm out of time!
Will it be a "peach"? I hope so. I really do pride myself on my creations, so I hope this one rises above the others....wish me luck!!!

Be sure to check back with me often....I'm always up to something!

I will post more of my paper crafting, card making, and scrap booking creations! (Or whatever else I'm up to!)
Want to find me on Ebay???....I'm Scrappydrew!!!
